Kayleigh Jean Whittaker!!

Even though everyone already knows this, I must blog about it! It's official that we will be having a little girl this fall! We have also decided on her name (hence the title of the blog), Kayleigh Jean. We had it narrowed to Alyssa or Kayleigh, but Victor was pretty set on Kayleigh. Since I liked them both, Kayleigh was the winner. Her middle name is after Victor's Grandmother's middle name. (His Grandma was Naomi Jean Whittaker) I love that Ian's middle name is after my Grandfather and Kayleigh's is after Victor's Grandmother! I also love that Kayleigh is a Gaelic name and Ian is Irish. Cute little theme we have going. Below are the ultrasound pictures of the little princess!





ALSO, Yesterday was mine and Victor's 3rd Anniversary!! It's been 3 amazing years of marriage thus far and I can't wait to see what the future brings for us! Victor has been the greatest Dad, Husband and provider for our family. He makes being married to him so easy!! He makes me so happy and ALWAYS knows how to make me laugh. I love that about him. God has blessed me above and beyond my expectations of a wonderful husband! He is truly my best friend. I can't wait to see how close we grow in our lifetime together. So, Happy Anniversary to the love of my life!

PS - He knows me too well. I've been wanting new jammies for months now and my present last night from Victor was 2 pairs jammies! Yay!

Hiking, Boating, BBQ's and Father's Day!

I've been meaning to blog for the last three weeks probably, but things just get busy around here. Well, we have 2 more days until we find out the sex of the baby! Victor still says it's a boy, but I still have hopes we will see a little more pink around here. Minus the usual, working on the house and working in general we've done quite a few fun things in the last month or so.

We went to Mount St Helen's about a month ago and visited the ape caves and went on a small hike to a suspension bridge with a waterfall view! Ian hung out in the back pack and loved his free ride, compliments of Victor. He had fun playing around with his flashlight and letting us know every time he heard someone coming. He really liked the bridge and waterfall too. He just enjoys being outside in general.

We took our boat out for the first time since last year about three weeks ago. We took our friends Brooke and Mike and their little man Maika (He's one of the kids I watch regularly) out to our Devil's Head Island (one of our favorite spots) to roast some weenies and let the kids play around. Unfortunately it was a pretty high high tide, so there wasn't as much beach as there usually is, but we managed. There were some campers on the island who's boat had broken down, so Victor gave 9 people a ride back to Zittel's Marina. (Mr. Hero)It was the only hot day of Summer we've had so far, so we picked the perfect day to go out and watch the sunset! I'm still praying this means summer will last extra long this year since it's almost July and we've only had 2-3 decent temperature days.

Two weeks ago we had our friends the George's over for a BBQ as well! Ian's been friends with their oldest daughter Sabina (she's almost 3) since he was born. I hadn't seen their youngest daughter Athena since she was born in December, so I loved every moment! Ian had an absolute blast playing with Sabina and they got along so well!! I look forward to getting together with them again soon!

Two days after the George's came over for a BBQ we had both sides of the family over for another BBQ on Father's Day! Ian loved spending all that time with his Papa's, Grandma's and Uncle's! It is so wonderful to have a house of our own to host family events and Holidays in! I look forward to many more!

Oh yes, I forgot to mention that Ian has been potty training! He wears undies all day and only wears pull ups at nap and bedtime. He tends to stay dry at nap more than 50% of the time and he even stayed dry at night twice in a row a couple weeks ago! I was impressed and hope we can get back to that! It feels weird not taking spare diapers with me anymore, but I have to say I'm loving it! He occasionally has an accident here or there still, but we are well on our way to being completely potty trained.

Swimming Lessons, Ian's First Movie Experience and A Fun Fair!

Well, I haven't blogged in a bit since I've been working like crazy and been exhausted from the pregnancy, but here's what we've been up to!

Ian finished his 4 weeks of swimming classes on May 6th and LOVED them! I wouldn't say he's any better at swimming, but at least he had fun in the pool. I would say he's definitely more confident in the water though. Every week midway through the class the teacher would had out squirty toys for the kids to throw and swim after. Ian was way more interested in squirting Mommy and Daddy though. His favorite weeks were when he got to go down the slide and do jumps into the pool (into my arms). The very last week he got to wear a life vest so he could be in the water without the parents having to hold on to them so much. I let go a few times for a few seconds, but he would immediately do a little barrel role and plop his face straight in the water. I could completely let go of him when he layed on his back though, and he didn't mind it a bit. All in all, it was a very fun 4 weeks!

Yesterday, Victor and I took Ian to his very first movie in the theaters! We took him to see How To Train Your Dragon. Now, we were a little worried because we were attempting this in the afternoon when he would normally have a nap, but because we had a free movie ticket only for this weekend and Victor works Sundays we were willing to try it. (Oh, he also got ALL sugared up a Birthday party for his friends Xavior and Dax right before this too) We brought bribery treats for a back up and we bought a bucket of popcorn. He didn't seem to love this movie as much as his beloved Cars, but he still enjoyed it. The hardest part was getting him to not talk to me about the movie during the movie. He had just as much popcorn as me and Victor I'm pretty sure!! Plus some fruit snacks and a juice box! By the end of the movie he was slouched on me, laying his head on my arm and kicking the chair in front of us(empty, don't worry). No meltdowns until we had to leave the mall. It was a fun family day and I'm happy we got to do it!

Today, Ian and I went to the Lacey Spring Fun Fair!! I have to say I was thoroughly impressed! Not only was everything absolutely free(minus food and vendor tables), it was ALL activities Ian was able to do! Last year we took Ian to the Capitol Lake Fair in Olympia and because of height restrictions he wasn't allowed to go on any rides or do anything interesting, not even a carousel ride with me accompanying him! At the Fun Fair he got to do his first pony ride! He climbed on the 3 different fire trucks they had, went down the HUGE Tsunami slide(3X), went through the bounce house obstacle course (6X!), did 3 different bounce houses, went on a really fun train ride (2X), got his face painted (a dolphin is what he asked for haha), got a sword and regular balloon, and too much free candy! I had so much fun taking him around everywhere and luckily we went right as it was starting so we got great parking and almost no lines for the first hour and a half. I really wish Victor could have come with us!! There was a really big car show there too that I know Victor would have loved.

An Official Update!!

Well, the good news is, I haven't given up on blogging! We've just been Incredibly busy since December!

Update #1 -

We FINALLY and OFFICIALLY closed on our house on February 7th, 2010! We officially moved in a week later on Valentine's Day! It was quite a mess for the whole first month, since we bought a fixer upper, closed 3 weeks later than planned, and Victor was the one doing all the work on the house. It's looking great now, but we're still not close to finished. It will all come in time is what I have to keep telling myself. I'm so proud of Victor and the AMAZING work he has been able to accomplish already. I will post the pictures below... Since we have moved in we've had 3 big get togethers. Victor's 1st ever suprise party, Ian's 2nd Birthday Party, and this last weekend Easter!

Update #2 -

Ian turned two! My baby is definitely no longer a baby! He is a full blown toddler! He's talking up a storm these days and can recognize the entire alphabet and all his colors (and most shapes). I can't believe how fast the time has gone...

Update #3 -

Ian is going to be a big brother!! We found out this last Monday that we'll be expecting our 2nd little rugrat. I mean Angel... This was not a planned pregnancy, but we're excited just the same! I guess waiting another 8 months to get pregnant was overrated. We'll be having a baby in 8 months instead! I'm due around the end of November and our first ultrasound is schedule for April 22nd. I will post the pictures as soon as we can.

We're Still Alive!

So sorry it has been forever since I blogged! I'm finding it hard to find time for this with watching Ian and my two boys part time, two families I babysit for on the side, spending quality time with Victor (it's been sparse lately), keeping my house somewhat clean and livable, having a social life and oh yeah, closing on a house! We are SOO GRATEFUL that Victor's parents are helping us achieve the goal of securing a house!! It is so perfectly ideal for what we want/need in a house and the location is perfect for me being able to keep and watch my boys as well! I have a feeling the next month is going to be very busy!! We have to pack, clean and move out of this house, while also, fixing, painting, cleaning, prepping and moving into the new house! Not to mention Ian's b-day is right at the end of January... it's going to be a a little crazy, but Victor is the one who will be working the hardest. My Mr. Fix it. Right now, my friend Andrea is in town so I'll be occupied having fun with her :) We're headed up to our friend David's cabin to try and find some snow with her.

What has Ian been up to these last few months?? Well, he has finally been going poopie on the potty again, it's not every time, but it's pretty often. He's also learned the colors yellow, green, pink, red, blue, orange, and white. He can recognize the letters A,B and C. He loves to sing songs! He absolutely flips every time he sees Christmas lights! He calls them Christmas tress... I never even taught him what a Christmas tree was! We pulled up to a store one day that had some in their window and he yelled "Christmas Tree!" So weird, but now he knows what snowmen and Santa Claus are too... We took away the binky almost a month ago. He doesn't ask for it anymore, but he sure takes much longer to fall asleep than he used to. Mommy misses it more than he does I think.

My sister, brother in-law and niece came out for Thanksgiving! That was a great visit and I'm happy Ian got to spend some good time with his cousin. I was finally able to talk about my sister's next baby on the way, because she told my parents once she flew out! I'm hoping for a girl!!

Anyhow, I will be posting some picture of Ian and the family from the last month or two in the next week!
